I left off yesterday very shortly after finding Elizabeth. Elizabeth is quite striking as a character, and from the looks of how much she is going to be around, she has to be. She's got to be likable, believable, and most importantly, she's got to work on such a high level that the player cares about her. I said it in a caption yesterday, that this game is just one big escort mission, which is true so far in all points but one. Elizabeth takes care of herself, and you. To be honest, I'm sort of annoyed by the interaction between the two characters so far, especially Booker. I realize he's there to do a job and that job is bringing Elizabeth back to these people that hired him, but it's like the writers didn't give him any kind of empathy or intelligence.

Personality abound.
SO let me get this straight, you get shot up in a rocket to a whole city that FLOATS, you give yourself these superhuman powers that let you do all kinds of stuff (including TURNING PEOPLE TO YOUR SIDE), murder tons of people, and you're still afraid of these people you owe money to? I guess it's a good thing there is no gambling in Columbia, cause then Booker wouldn't kill anything. My point is: you are this incredible bad ass with all these powers and when you get the girl in the airship, you still try to take her to New York instead of doing what ever you want to cause you shoot lighting and crows out of your freaking fingers. I guess that's what I get for thinking to much about a story in a video game. So anyway, I run around with Elizabeth for a while shooting people (much to her horror), gaining powers, and trying to get her to this airship. True to an escort mission, my escort-ee runs away and now I am tasked with finding her.

Who do you have to fear when your fingers burn off and you're just fine afterwards?

Shocking.
Besides the quite mundane story so far the game is still exceptional. Elizabeth's personality is BURSTING through and I give mad props to the voice actress behind it. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm not happy with the way Booker is being portrayed. At times he seems like he is warming up to this girl, only to bluntly tell her she's just a job. I'm not 100% sure the whole 1st person shooter as an actual character thing is working when I can't identify with the character I'm supposed to be playing. More this weekend, Red Six standing by.
